Is Sawm free?
Yes. Recording your fasts, the Qada balance, Fidya, reminders, suggestions and statistics are all free, and the free app is paid for by ads. Sawm Pro removes the ads and adds export, every Ramadan year and suggestions further ahead.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and nothing to log in to. Your record is kept on your phone.
I deleted the app or changed phones. Can I get my record back?
We cannot recover it: Sawm keeps your record only on your phone and never sends it to us. Your Sawm Pro purchase is not lost — restore it from the Sawm Pro screen with the same Apple or Google account.
How are imsak and iftar calculated?
From your city's position, by the method your country follows — Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia, Diyanet in Turkey, the Muslim World League where no national method is listed — in your city's time zone. If your mosque's timetable differs, follow your mosque.
The Hijri date is a day off for my country. How do I fix it?
Turn on Hijri auto-detect in Settings and Sawm follows the date announced for your country. Or set the Hijri offset yourself, from −2 to +2 days; doing so turns auto-detect off.
Which reminders does Sawm send, and why don't I get them?
The evening before each Sunnah fast you choose, before a fast you planned, ahead of Ramadan, and at the times you set for suhoor, your intention and your Qada. If none arrive, allow notifications for Sawm in your phone's settings and exclude it from battery saving.
What is Qada, and how do I track it?
Qada is making up an obligatory fast you missed. Open the Fasts tab, choose Qada, and add the days you owe; each make-up fast you record brings the balance down.
What does Sawm Pro add?
No ads; your record exported as PDF or CSV; your Ramadan performance for every year (the free app shows the latest); and suggestions that look 14 days ahead and show all of them (the free app looks 7 days ahead and shows 3).
How do I restore Sawm Pro?
Open Settings, tap the Sawm Pro row at the top, then Restore Purchases, signed in to the same Apple or Google account you bought with. A lifetime purchase is restored the same way.
Which languages is Sawm in?
English, Arabic, French, Turkish, Indonesian, Malay and Urdu. Change it in Settings, under Language.
